BATON ROUGE – LSU Continuing Education has partnered with iNotaryNow to offer an online notary public preparatory course. The course helps participants prepare for the Louisiana notary public exam. Notaries administer oaths, take affidavits, authenticate certain documents and perform other non-contentious legal tasks. A notary commission can add to the holder’s value as an employee and also allows the holder to perform notary functions independently.

Participants spend one evening a week, from 6 to 9 p.m., in a webinar-style class that includes live interaction with an instructor. Participants can access assignments, lectures, practice tests, discussion forums, and other course resources from their own computer. Participants have access to sample juridical acts such as wills, testaments, trusts, tutorships, mortgages, promissory notes, cash sales, credit sales, affidavits, powers of attorney, donations and more.

The online notary public prep course updates LSU Continuing Education’s long-running classroom course by expanding access to those who find it inconvenient or impossible to attend course meetings on campus.

“The online notary public preparatory course continues to fundamentally transform notary education in the state of Louisiana,” said Shane Milazzo, founder of iNotaryNow.

Milazzo is a commissioned notary public with statewide jurisdiction who has experience in both education and telecommunications. He is excited by the possibilities now available to adult learners, noting, “We use the power of new technology coupled with proven, insightful, and intensive teaching methods to create an experience that delivers exceptional education to motivated students across the state as they prepare for the Louisiana notary public examination.”

The course is delivered through a platform called iCourse, developed by TNC Solutions LLC. TNC Solutions serves the needs of organizations ranging from small businesses to publicly traded companies in diverse fields, including law, medicine, banking, education and churches.
