BATON ROUGE – Hemline@LSU is currently holding its Fall 2013 Trunk Show through Friday, Nov. 14, in the lobby of the Human Ecology Building from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The event is open to the public. Changing rooms will be provided.
Vendors who will be offering items during the Nov. 13 session include Bats on Tees, The Elizabeth Chronicles, Time Warp and Chloe + Isabel by Vida Pura Spa. Vendors on Nov. 14 will include Hazel & Florange, Ella Rose, JessLeigh Jewels and Vertu Boutique.
Hemline@LSU acts as a face for fashion students at LSU. Numerous fashion shows, designers and stores reach out to the group for volunteer work and help with various projects, one of which includes volunteering for NOLA Fashion Week each season. Hemline@LSU members go to New Orleans and assist designers with anything and everything, from dressing backstage to seating for the shows. Aside from helping out the fashion community and planning the Trunk Show, the main focus is the end of the year fashion show. This fashion show is held off campus each May and is a chance for our fashion students to show their best work. It involves junior and senior design students with their original garments, as well as a styling competition for merchandising students.
“Our Trunk Show is a great way to show the campus who we are and what we’re about,” said Christopher Nelson, public relations representative for Hemline@LSU. “It is a chance for any LSU students who may not be members to discover us as a club and as a unique part of the student body. It is also a great opportunity for students to make connections with local designers and learn about their path to success. Lastly and most importantly, the sale is one of our fundraisers for the end of the year show.”
