Three LSU Graduates Commissioned on Aug. 8

BATON ROUGE – Three LSU graduates were commissioned during the Summer Commissioning Ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Dalton J. Woods Auditorium in the Energy, Coast and Environment Building. Col. (Retired) Henry M. Martin, assistant professor at the Command General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., was the guest speaker for the ceremony.

Two of the cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants from the LSU Army ROTC program, and one was commissioned as a second lieutenant from the LSU Air Force ROTC program.

The following is a list of commissionees by hometown:


Baton Rouge: 2nd Lt. Robert Emmett Brown received a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from the College of Science. Brown will attend Infantry Officer Basic Course in Fort Benning, Ga.

Baton Rouge: 2nd Lt. Raymon Perkins received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. Perkins’ first assignment is with the Louisiana Army National Guard, Forward Support Company, 205th EN Battalion in Hammond.

LSU Air Force ROTC:

Jeanerette: 2nd Lt. Ariel Alma Rollins received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the College of Science. Rollins is assigned to Vandenberg Air Force Base in Vandenberg, Calif.
