BATON ROUGE – The LSU Public Administration Institute recently had two of its professors
appointed to local community boards. The Capital Region YMCA named Assistant Professor
Jared Llorens to its board of directors for the 2013-2015 term, and the executive
committee of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants
has named Assistant Professor Boris Morozov as its director of Education for the 2013-2014
“We encourage our faculty members to be engaged in the community, and we are very
pleased that Jared and Boris have been asked to serve,” said PAI Director James Richardson.
“Both will do an excellent job.”
According to Llorens, the YMCA board is responsible for providing oversight and guidance
to the eight YMCA branches in the capital region.
“This is an important opportunity for me to give back to an organization that provides
a great service and was highly influential in my childhood development,” Llorens said.
AGA, according to its website, supports the careers and professional development of
government finance professionals working in federal, state and local governments as
well as the private sector and academia. Founded in 1950, AGA has more than 16,000
members. The Baton Rouge chapter was chartered in 1973, and its prime stated purpose
is to promote sound, financial management and education in government.
The Public Administration Institute at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business offers a 42-hour degree program that emphasizes management and financial skills for those leading public agencies, nonprofit and healthcare organizations and for-profit organizations that interact with governmental agencies.
