BATON ROUGE – LSU will hold a press conference on Thursday, April 18, at 10 a.m. in the Stadium Club on the West side of Tiger Stadium to announce that the university has earned a certification to help assess and mitigate risks to safety and security at sporting events.
The LSU Police Department, in conjunction with the LSU Athletic Department, has earned the Sport Event Security Aware, or SESA, Certification from the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security, or NCS4.
LSU is the 10th university in the nation to receive this certification, and the fourth in the Southeastern Conference.
Representatives from LSU and NCS4 will be on hand to discuss the certification. Scheduled to attend are LSU Interim Chancellor and President William L. Jenkins, LSU Athletic Director and Vice Chancellor Joe Alleva, LSU Police Chief Lawrence Rabalais, and representatives from GOHSEP and various other law enforcement agencies.
Parking for the media will be available in the West Stadium Parking Lot, close to Gate 4 of Tiger Stadium. Members of the media should take the West Stadium elevators to Level L for the press conference.
