The 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Food, drinks, live music and door prizes will be a part of the expected fun atmosphere.

According to MBAWI Vice President of Philanthropy Alyssa Zaunbrecher, beginning in 2009, NAWMBA LSU started a tradition of keeping Pace’s spirit alive by hosting an annual 5K to benefit the memorial MBA scholarship created in her honor.

On May 24, 2002, Pace graduated in the top 10 percent of her class from the LSU Flores MBA Program. One week later, she was murdered. In the wake of her tragic death, classmates and friends asked that a scholarship be established in her name to commemorate her life and achievements.

“Anyone who is unable to participate in the 5K but would like to contribute to the scholarship may do so,” Zaunbrecher said. “But we hope to see as many people out for the race as possible.”
