LSU College of Human Sciences & Education Seeking Nominations for Awards Banquet

BATON ROUGE – The LSU College of Human Sciences & Education invites alumni, faculty, staff and students to nominate candidates to be recognized for proven records of exceptional service to their professions, school, college or the university.


The college is a realignment of six schools: the School of Education, the School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development, the School of Kinesiology, the School of Library and Information Science, the School of Social Work and the University Laboratory School.


“We will recognize individuals who are dedicated to learning, scholarship and community engagement, and place a spotlight on some of the finest ambassadors of LSU,” said Dean Laura Lindsay.


Awards to be conferred are the Advocate for Diversity Award, the Alumni Distinction Award, the Award for Outstanding Service by Faculty or Staff, the Distinguished Faculty Research Award, the Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award, the Distinguished Service on Behalf of the College Award, the Early Career Award; the Partnership Award and the Philanthropist of the Year Award.


The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2013.


The honors will be conferred at the inaugural College of Human Sciences & Education Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the LSU Student Union Royal Cotillion Ballroom.
