BATON ROUGE – LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva will appear
in the second installment of the 2012 spring edition of the LSU Flores MBA Program
Distinguished Speaker Series. Alleva will speak on Friday, Feb. 10, at the LSU Energy,
Coast & Environment Building beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Alleva earned a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1975 from Lehigh University and earned
his MBA from there in 1976, while serving as a graduate assistant football coach.
After serving as director of athletics at Duke University for 10 years, Alleva joined LSU in April 2008. In August 2009, the LSU Board of Supervisors named him a vice chancellor, marking the first time in school history that the director of athletics has also held a vice chancellor position. Recently, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee appointed Alleva to a five-year term, and LSU Athletics continues to see unprecedented success, growth and infrastructure achievements during his tenure.
Alleva follows Joseph Winkler and precedes Christel Slaughter in the series. Slaughter
will be the final speaker in the spring DSS on Friday, April 20.
