Morris is a 40-year, journalism veteran with a career that includes the last 24 years with NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune. He is currently a columnist in The Times-Picayune opinion section. Morris was project editor for "Oceans of Trouble: Are the World's Fisheries Doomed?," an eight-part series that won the newspaper its first Pulitzer Prize in 1997. He was instrumental in the conception, planning and production of "Louisiana Incarcerated: How We Built the World's Prison Capital," an eight-part series in 2012 that received a prestigious "Sidney" award from the Sidney Hillman Foundation. He received a Peabody Award in 2013 for his role as executive producer for "Louisiana Purchased," a joint project with WVUE Fox8 that looked at state campaign financing.
