Biography

Sujin (Sue) Kim, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Manship School of Mass Communication. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on the psychological mechanism of how consumers negatively respond to advertisements in digital media and how digital technology shapes consumers’ cognitive/affective/behavioral engagement with marketing messages. She has presented at several conferences, including the American Academy of Advertising Annual Conference, the Global Marketing Conference, the National Communication Association and Academy of Marketing Science. Her research has appeared in several peer-reviewed journals such as the International Journal of Advertising and the Journal of Promotion Management.

She offers a range of professional advertising experience, having previously worked as an assistant marketing manager for Hankook Cosmetics and an art director on OgilvyOne Worldwide’s Creative Team.
