Chief Technology Officer - John Borne  

John C Borne is the Assistant Vice President for IT and Interim Chief Technology Officer at Louisiana State University. In this role John has the Information Technology Services and Office of Risk Management units reporting to him. For more than thirty years, John has supported strategic IT efforts at the University, including serving as Deputy Chief Information Officer, Assistant Vice President for Shared IT Services, and Executive Director for Information Security and Risk.

John’s career began at LSU as a Programmer Analyst I, and over his career has served in virtually every position level within the central IT organization.  He has since used his comprehensive insight of information technology, information security, and risk management to support impactful initiatives including: assisting in the development of the LSU Risk Management program following the approval of risk autonomy for LSU in 2014, and pursuing new technology initiatives in the areas of public/private Cloud and identity management.

John earned his MS in Information Systems and Decision Sciences from LSU and his BS in Computer Science from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.  He holds certification in the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework, and is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional(CISSP).
