Chief Information Officer - Craig Woolley
Craig Woolley was welcomed into the LSU family as the new ITS Chief Information Officer in early August. Craig has more than 30 years of leadership experience in higher education IT and has been recognized for improving IT organizations using customer service and technological tools to enhance the user experience of students, faculty, and staff. In his previous role as CIO at Wright State University, Craig supervised the Computing and Telecommunications Services Division; chaired the Data Governance, Digital Accessibility, and Program Effectiveness Committees; and participated in the President’s Leadership team and Provost Council.
Prior to WSU, Craig acted as Assistant Vice President for the University of South Florida IT where he oversaw a budget of $25.5 million, was responsible for 135 staff members, and participated in the implementation of a large-scale virtual applications portal that served 60,000 users.
Craig obtained both his BS in Engineering Technology and M. Ed. in Instructional Technology at USF, where he also oversaw IT for the Colleges of Education (1995) and Arts and Sciences (2000).
Some of the first initiatives that Craig will undertake in his new role as CIO include addressing a recent IT Governance Audit report, reigniting efforts for a new Student Information System solution, and focused attention on providing excellent customer service to the LSU Community.
