LSU Undergraduate Society for the Study of Religion
We love our students! We work hard for everyone who majors in Religious Studies to achieve full employment and life fulfillment. The LSU Undergraduate Society for the Study of Religion is key to setting our students up for success. This student-led club is a great way to get out of the classroom and into the real world. From visiting religious sites to debating religious questions, the club prepares our students for the difficult challenges facing communities as close as Baton Rouge and as far as Cairo. Get involved!
LSU Undergraduate Symposium in Religious Studies
Undergraduate students majoring or minoring in Religious Studies at LSU are cordially invited to participate in the upcoming Undergraduate Symposium in Religious Studies. This is a bi-annual event that showcases the best and brightest undergraduate thinkers in the field of religious studies.
Submit a brief, highly polished, conference-length paper (i.e., approximately 1,000–1,500 words) on any topic in the academic study of religion. Selected papers will be presented by their authors to an audience of LSU students and faculty, receive scholarly feedback and questions from the audience, all in a highly supportive, encouraging, and welcoming atmosphere.
For inquiries, as well as entering submissions, please contact Dr. Kenny Paul Smith, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The symposium will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, 3:00pm – 5:00pm in the Hill Lecture Hall in the Hill Memorial Library. The deadline for submitting papers for consideration is Friday, November 9, 2018.
