2019 Pre-Doctoral Scholar's Institute (PDSI) Applications Open
The Pre-Doctoral Scholar’s Institute (PDSI) program is an intensive four-week summer research opportunity that prepares high-achieving minority underrepresented students for future doctoral study. The four-week research program introduces the students to the culture of graduate education and exposes them to faculty-mentors who personify the realistic and obtainable goal of a doctoral degree.
Designed to simulate a “real world” graduate school research environment, the institute is structured as an intensive research experience; which includes, but is not limited to: academic journal reading, peer-reviewing, academic writing, conducting literature reviews, data analyses, developing quantitative and qualitative research designs, and field study participation, all culminating with a research symposium on the last day of the institute.
Students interested in the following disciplines should apply:
- Aerospace Studies (Air Force ROTC)
- Communication Sciences & Disorders
- Communication Studies
- Foreign Languages & Literatures

- Geography & Anthropology
- Military Science (Army ROTC)
