Scholarship Applications for LSU History students

Applications are now open (until March 15) for all LSU-administered scholarships, including scholarships for History majors, using  the new Blackbaud Award Management system. All students must complete the general application in order to be considered for a scholarship, and history students are required to submit a response to a short essay question as part of their application (see questions below).

As part of the application process students will be given an opportunity to upload a document (Word or .pdf format, 200-300 words). The department has requested these short essays to help the committee in its choice of students to receive about 8 or 10 scholarships specifically for history majors. Choose one of the following questions to answer:

    1. Describe an assignment in a history course you found particularly interesting or rewarding, and explain why.

    2. Have you conducted a research project in a history course?  Describe what you did and what you discovered.

    3. What history reading assignment most changed your thinking on a question?

To initiate the application, follow the Financial Services tab in your MyLSU account, and then click "Scholarship Application" and follow the steps from there.

Once the general application is submitted, you may be directed to additional applications for which you may be eligible.  Students can log in using their myLSU credentials.  To view a listing of the College of Humanities & Social Sciences related opportunities, click here.  If you have questions about these scholarships, contact Tianna Powers at tpowers@lsu.edu.  For information about all scholarships at LSU, visit www.lsu.edu/scholarships.

The application deadline is March 15, 2021 and will not be extended.
