Martha Strohschein has been teaching in LSU's English Department since 1988. While she has taught a variety of courses in literature and composition ranging from poetry and drama to business and legal writing, her primary focus is English 2000/Academic Writing. University and departmental service include undergraduate academic advising, Associate Director of the University Writing Program, ENGL 2000 pilot and steering committees, instructor review committees, and department Executive Committee. Strohschein served as president of the LSU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi in 2003-04. She has been awarded the English Graduate Student Mentor Award (1999), the Tiger Athletic Foundation President's Award (2004), the George H. Deer Distinguished Teaching Award (2011), and the LSU Panhellenic Council Spotlight Professor Award (2012).
