LSU has proven to be a champion both on the field and in the classroom. In August 2011, LSU was ranked in the first tier by U.S. News & World Report, marking the fourth straight year for the first-tier rankings. Using no state funds or student fees to support athletics, LSU has won 46 national championships and the football program has competed for three BCS National Championships since 2011.
