Sorority Financial Information

One-time expenses include new member, initiation, badge, and house corporation fees. New member fees ranges from $0–$200, while initiation fees ranges from $125-$232.  Badge fees range from $0 (included in initiation fee or dues) - $175. House corporation fees range from $150-$540.

Average one-time expenses: $600

Membership dues range anywhere from $220–502 per semester. If the social fee is not included in the dues, it ranges from $160-230.

Most sororities offer meal plans that range from $325–$940. If you do not live in the house, you will be asked to pay a house usage fee,  which is usually between $325–$800.

Average semester sorority expenses:

$1,366.50 -- average semester expenses

$2,961.21 -- average room and board

$719 - average meals (lunch and dinner only)

In addition to fraternity dues and fees, a $67 assessment for Greek Membership per semester will appear on each Greek student's LSU fee bill for 2020-21.


NOTE: All figures are averages. Some sororities may cost less while others cost more. You will be provided with individual sorority costs information upon arrival. You may find it financially advantageous to join a sorority, as some groups charge less for a meal plan and housing than other options around campus.
