Geaux Forward Bulletin, Issue 13

Issue 13: November 10, 2017

Current Work & Accomplishments

  • This week, the Project Team had one feedback gathering session with graduate advisors. We had five very engaged participants and really learned a lot about graduate student advising processes from them.
  • Two town hall scenario presentations were held on November 7 and 8 with a total of 72 attendees between the two meetings. The town halls provided an opportunity for the campus community to learn more about what the Geaux Forward project is and to view an overview of basic functionality in Workday Student as part of the Fit & Feasibility Study currently underway.
  • An All Campus Summit was held in Alexandria at LSUA on Friday, November 10. The summit was attended by representatives of LSU A&M, LSUA, LSUE, LSUHSC New Orleans and Shreveport and LSUS with the purpose of providing input to the IT Governance committee on Workday Student from the central office stakeholders of the Student Module (Recruiting & Admissions, Student Records, Financial Aid, and Student Financials).
  • Answers to questions posed to the Project Team from various meetings around campus, including Town Halls, Associate & Assistant Deans Meetings and Informational Meetings, are being posted to our new FAQ page on the project website.

Upcoming Work & Milestones

  • Feedback gathering sessions are continuing with Undergraduate & Graduate Advisors, Administrative Coordinators, and faculty who work with the course offering, helping students with registration related questions regarding wait listing, prerequisites, etc.. If you are a member of one of these groups and need information about these, please email for more information. We’re looking for further feedback from anyone whose current work touches the student systems on the mainframe.
  • Another set of feedback gathering sessions have been added for college recruiters. These sessions will be held Tuesday, November 28 from 8-10 a.m., Wednesday, November 29 from 1-3 p.m. and Friday, December 1 from 1-3 p.m. in Frey 212/213. Recruiters can RSVP for this session at
  • In preparation for the go-no-go decision in December, team leadership will be meeting with each IT Governance member individually to document their needs for data on the scorecard. These meetings are currently being scheduled through the month of November.
  • A student focused scenario presentation will be held on Friday, November 17 at 12:30 p.m. in Room 204, Tureaud Hall for Student Government representatives. The presentation will be similar to those held for the general campus community with more focus specifically on the student experience.
