Rope Rescue Awareness
The Rope Rescue Awareness course is designed to teach students to recognize the need for scene specific support resources, how to organize those resources and to recognize incident hazards and initiate isolation procedures. Students will learn how to initiate a search with respect to rope rescue, whether high or low angle. Students will learn about ground support operations for helicopter activities, triage and assisting a technical rope rescue team in the operation of mechanical advantage systems. This course meets the Rope Rescue Awareness level of NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications.
