Kargarian Honored by LSU for Academic Record

Amin Kargarian headshotBATON ROUGE, LA – Amin Kargarian, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, was recently honored with the LSU Alumni Association Rising Faculty Research Award as part of the university’s annual recognition of faculty and their outstanding work.

The award recognizes faculty at the rank of assistant professor who have outstanding records of scholarship and published research and comes with a $5,000 cash award.

“This award made me realize that hard work will eventually pay off,” Kargarian said. “It inspires me to do even more hard work in the future. I feel great to work at LSU, where high values are given to research and academic activities.”

Kargarian’s research focuses on power systems operation and planning, decentralized/distributed optimization, decision-making in smart grids, renewable energy and energy storage integration, and infrastructure interdependency analyses in future power systems.
