ME Professor’s Book Published by Wiley

April 22, 2019

Marcio de Queiroz headshotBATON ROUGE, LA – Marcio de Queiroz, LSU Mechanical Engineering professor and holder of the Roy O. Martin Professorship, recently published the book Formation Control of Multi-Agent Systems: A Graph Rigidity Approach. Published by Wiley, the book is based on work conducted by de Queiroz’s research group over the last seven years.

Formation Control is the first book to provide a comprehensive and unified treatment of the subject of graph rigidity-based formation control of multi-agent systems.

“Such systems are relevant to a variety of emerging engineering applications, including unmanned robotic vehicles and mobile sensor networks,” de Queiroz said. “Graph theory, and rigid graphs in particular, is a natural tool for describing the multi-agent formation shape, as well as the inter-agent sensing, communication, and control topology.”

The book is intended for researchers and graduate students in the areas of control systems and robotics.
