Terrie Sterling is a premier leader in our community whose lifelong commitment to healthcare has made a significant contribution to the health and wellbeing of Louisiana. As the current Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Terrie is responsible for the day to day operations of the eight hundred and one bed regional medical center and Children’s Hospital.
Terrie has affected positive change in her organization and our state through her
dynamic leadership, breadth of experience, and mentorship to young leaders. This
year, Terrie led a number of significant initiatives that have contributed to positive
healthcare transformation for our state. She implemented several quality initiatives,
performance management systems, and enhanced the
organization’s efforts of community health and outreach. Terrie has demonstrated courageous decisions by inspiring and encouraging others to adhere to quality patient care. She had paid forward her executive leadership standards to the next generation of healthcare leaders.
Terrie serves on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, New Orleans Branch, Capital Area United Way, Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, Louisiana Organization for not for Profits, and American Heart Association Greater Southeast Region Affiliate. She is the 2014 American Heart Association Chairman for the Heart Walk and also serves on the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge.
Terrie has received an extensive list of awards and honors including American Organization of Nurse Executives Leader to Watch, Graduate of Leadership Baton Rouge, Top Forty Under Forty, and was inducted into Southern University’s Honor Society. Her professional activities include Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
