Donna D. Fraiche is a shareholder and member of the health care and public policy practice groups in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge offices of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz. She chairs their Nominating Committee and chaired their Women's Initiative Committees.
Donna has been selected by Chambers USA as one of the nation’s leading health law attorneys every year since 2003. She has been selected as a Louisiana Super Lawyer annually since 2007. She was named a top lawyer in Government Relations and Health Care by New Orleans Magazine in 2010, 2012, and 2013. Donna was named New Orleans Health Care Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America in 2011. Donna chairs the Louisiana Health Care Commission, is a Board member of the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum, and served on the Louisiana Legislature’s Task Force on the Working Uninsured. She is a Board Member of Woman's Hospital and served as the first woman president of the American Health Lawyers Association.
Donna was appointed the Honorary Consul-General of Japan for New Orleans in 2008 and re- appointed in 2013. After the Great Earthquake of East Japan, she chaired a fundraising effort named The NOLA Japan Quake Fund and hosted “ A Night for Nippon” gala which raised substantial contributions for the disaster recovery efforts.
Donna has appeared before the Joint Economic Committee of Congress testifying at a hearing entitled “Structure of the Hospital Industry in the 21st Century.” In 2000, she spoke at the ABA Healthlaw Section Meeting in London. She served on The Joint Commission’s Leadership Accountabilities Task Force. Nightingale’s Healthcare News named her as one of ten Outstanding Hospital Lawyers in the United States in 2005 and as an Outstanding Physician Fraud and Compliance Lawyer in 2009.
Donna is President of the Louisiana Supreme Court Historical Society and Past President of the Louisiana Chapter of Appleseed.
