- Understanding the persistence of foodborne pathogen in an agricultural environment; developing strategies to minimize pathogen risk associated with irrigation water and biological soil amendments.
- Identifying and developing sustainable best practices to mitigate microbial food safety risk as it relates to growing, harvesting, holding and processing fresh produce
- Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive issue-based educational outreach programming related to food safety regulations
