Academic Advising

Notice: Due to the transition to online classes for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester, all advising is being handled remotely.

Please visit our online resources hub for more information on new procedures.

Advising Overview

Students are strongly encouraged to visit an academic advisor at least once each semester to stay on track to graduate. Degree plan flowcharts are available further down on this page to assist in planning; it is recommended students review their degree plan before meeting with an advisor or scheduling courses.

Students are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance, particularly during times around a deadline (e.g. date to add/drop courses.) Advising is available some days on a walk-in basis; however, hours may vary. Students can schedule appointments using the Navigate Student App.

Transfer students, incoming freshmen, and students returning after a hiatus must schedule an appointment in advance.

Appointment Scheduling

Students are required to download the Navigate Student App, which can be used to schedule appointments with counselors and other features like To-Dos, Study Buddies, Resources, Holds, and Class Schedule. Navigate is available for both Apple and Android devices using the direct download links below:

Download Navigate (iOS / Apple)  Download Navigate (Android)

After downloading, please use your existing myLSU credentials to sign in to the app.
