Dr. Roxana Pavel Goldstein recently made her Carnegie Hall recital debut in 2014 to critical acclaim. She is a founding member of the Logos String Quartet (ensemble in residence at Louisiana State University), where she also directs the chamber music program and Collegium Musicum. She has won numerous prizes at major competitions. She received her Bachelor’s and Masters degrees from DePaul University where she studied with Mark Zinger, and finished her DMA at the University of Wisconsin with David Perry, where she was a Paul Collins Fellow. She has appeared frequently as soloist with orchestras and has performed extensively as a recitalist in Europe, Australia, Korea and the United States. She has recently been a guest artist at various universities such as Michigan State University, Ohio State University and University of Iowa.
She was recently featured as guest concertmaster of the New Zealand Philharmonic in 2015. She was the concertmaster and music director of Advent Chamber Orchestra since its inception, and has appeared on WFMT and WPR on several occasions. She has been a guest artist with the Chicago Chamber Musicians, Rembrandt Chamber Players, and was a member of the International Chamber Artists in Chicago. As an orchestral player she has performed with Indianapolis Symphony and members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra regularly. Recent chamber music collaborations include the Pro Arte Quartet, Nabuko Imai, and the Shanghai Quartet.
