LIS 7911: Information Architecture (IA) (3 credits)

The course covers basic concepts, principles, and practice of information architecture.

Students will learn tools and techniques for structuring and organizing information on the Web such as labeling, navigating, and searching information.

Course focus:

  • basic understanding of how to integrate information architecture into the Web development process
  • how to examine users’ needs, context, and content
  • how to improve user experience for better interaction with systems (UXD: User Experience Design)
