Assistant professor, Petra A. Robinson, presents at international solutions-focused conference

Dr. Petra A. Robinson, Assistant Professor in the School of Leadership and Human Resource Development (SLHRD), travelled to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the second International Conference on Urban Education (ICUE) held November 3-5, 2016. Dr. Robinson returned to LSU after presenting two research papers.

Her first presentation, “Cultural Taxation or Organizational Citizenship,” focused on faculty diversity and distinguishing between cultural taxation and organizational citizenship. The second was based on a co-authored paper titled “Pathways to the Professoriate as Urban Education Post-Doctoral Scholars of Color: Advocating for Access, Equity, and Social Justice through Research.”

The ICUE, a solutions-based conference, is a global gathering of people who want to see youth in urban schools reach maximum potential. Dr. Robinson’s research interests lie in issues related to critical literacies, diversity and social justice, global lifelong learning, and professional development in the academy.

The LSU School of Leadership & Human Resource Development (SLHRD) offers programs dedicated to producing world class practitioners, leaders, and instructors in Leadership and Human Resource Development.
