Dr. Reid Bates has been appointed Interim Director of the School Leadership & Human Resource Development (SLHRD) effective May 18, 2015.
Dr. Bates’ background includes nearly 20 years of full-time professional experience as an academic, administrator, and practitioner. He serves as the W. He has received a number of awards recognizing his research, teaching, and service contributions. Most recently, Dr. Bates has been named a recipient of the LSU Distinguished Faculty Award for 2015, a university-wide award at LSU that recognizes faculty with “a sustained record of excellence in teaching, research, service, or any combination of the three.”
“We are pleased to simultaneously congratulate Dr. Bates and welcome him to his new role,” said CHSE Dean Damon Andrew. “SLHRD is poised to make a significant impact assisting with our state’s imminent workforce needs. I know Dr. Bates and the faculty at SLHRD will continue to provide excellent instruction as well as service to our community and beyond.”
