LHRD Faculty Member Dr. Crocco Elected to Board of Directors of Academic Association

Dr. Oliver "Ozzie"Crocco
Baton Rouge, LA - Assistant Professor of Leadership and Human Resource Development Dr. Oliver “Ozzie”Crocco was elected to the Board of Directors of the Academy of Human Resource Development for a three-year term beginning in 2021.
The Academy of Human Resource Development AHRD) is a “global organization made up of, governed by, and created for the Human Resource Development HRD) scholarly community of academics and reflective practitioners.”
When asked why he sought a position on the Board of Directors, Dr. Crocco responded,
“I feel incredibly indebted to the scholarly community at AHRD and I fully embrace the vision of the organization to lead the field of HRD through research.”
Given his own experience living and working in Thailand, Dr. Crocco is excited about elevating the international focus of the Academy. In the past, he has presented at AHRD-sponsored conferences in Ireland, Portugal, England, Morocco, Thailand, and Vietnam. He is also looking forward to supporting the efforts and initiatives of AHRD’s Antiracism Committee.
Being elected to the Board builds on Dr. Crocco’s track record of service to AHRD. After becoming a member in 2015, Dr. Crocco has served AHRD in a variety of ways including as a Track Chair for the International, Global, and Cross-Cultural Issues Track, Associate Track Chair for Critical, Social Justice, and Diversity Perspectives, Track Chair for Career Development – Asia Conference, Chair and Past-Chair of the Leadership Special Interest Group, and Member of the Membership Engagement Committee. Dr. Crocco also sits on the editorial boards of two of AHRD’s sponsored journals: Human Resource Development Review and Advances in Developing Human Resources.
“It’s absolutely vital for scholars and graduate students to be connected to a scholarly community. AHRD has been that community for me, and I hope more students and faculty members interested in HRD research will get connected. It’s an honor to be elected by my peers, and I look forward to serving over the next three years,”
said Dr. Crocco.
