Dr. Rizzuto's research program is based on developing human capital and organizational capacity through technology-mediated processes, with the goal of increasing access to the knowledge, expertise, and resources needed to manage change in the modern workplace. She is associated with over $9 million in grants from state and federal sources along with being published in the New York Times and National Public Radio's Marketplace.
"As a high school athlete and daughter of a coach, athletics taught me the importance of hustling to the end, looking for strengths among my teammates, and never missing an opportunity to learn from my losses," said Dr. Rizzuto. "Today, as an instructor and advisor to college athletes, I've developed a profound appreciation for my students' abilities to push to their limits, manage tireless schedules and reach for their best."
"On behalf of the Jacobs Women's Network, I would like to congratulate Dr. Rizzuto as Jacobs Professor of Excellence at LSU," said Michael Authement, Jacobs vice president of operations in Baton Rouge. "The Women's Network at Jacobs strives to provide leadership, education, and professional development opportunities to elevate the profile of employees at Jacobs. Jacobs is proud to honor Dr. Rizzuto, who possess all of the ideals that our network upholds."
This is Jacobs first year to be the presenting sponsor of the Professor of Excellence award.
"We are excited about our partnership with an organization like Jacobs, who recognizes the success and accomplishments in and out of the classroom," said Ward Wyatt, general manager of LSU Sports Properties. "Congratulations to Dr. Rizzuto, who does all she can to positively affect the student-athletes at LSU."
