Office of Sponsored Research

The Office of Sponsored Research was formed to facilitate an increase in research productivity by assisting faculty in identifying securing and administering externally-funded sponsored programs in the college. This administrative unit serves as an important resource to faculty and provides one-stop-shop assistance in important grant-related areas to ensure the college continues to achieve distinction in research, teaching, and service.

The office facilitates all administrative aspects of the pre- and post-award process, including proposal preparation, budgetary needs, human resources, sub-awards, contracts, procurement requisitions, projecting expenditures, and performing accounting and reporting functions, such as:

  • Identifying available funding and offering technical assistance to faculty on proposal preparation and submission through the sponsoring agency.
  • Providing comprehensive support to principal investigators (PI's) in all areas of grant administration, including procurement services; appointment of sponsored project staff, coordination of meetings and  travel; maintenance of project accounts and reports for project decision-making; and liaison between the PI's, the University Office of Sponsored Programs, and the sponsoring agency
