Park receives LSU Rising Faculty Research Award


Dr. Sunyoung Park has been selected by the LSU Alumni Association to receive the Rising Faculty Research Award, which recognizes faculty at the rank of assistant professor who have outstanding records of scholarship and published research. She was recognized at the Distinguished Faculty Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Lod Cook Alumni Center from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

She has published research in peer-reviewed journals and in peer-reviewed books. Dr. Park’s publication record includes: 22 peer-reviewed journal articles and 3 peer-reviewed book chapters. Further, to date, there are 15 articles under review or in-press in peer-reviewed journals. 

Park has also received numerous accolades for quality research including the following awards of excellence.

  • Awards for Excellence: Highly Commended Paper Award (2016) from European Journal of Training and Development)
  • Three (3) Cutting Edge Award (2011, 2014, 2016) from Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD)
  • Second Runner Up Malcolm S. Knowles Dissertation of the Year Award (2013) from AHRD 
  • Awards for Excellence: Outstanding Paper Award (2011) from Leadership & Organization Development Journal

Dr. Park received her PhD from the University of Minnesota in Human Resource Development (HRD). Her research interests concern organizational culture and behavior, learning and performance in the workplace, and research trends in HRD and related fields. Her teaching focuses on the fields of instructional design, performance analysis, training and development, and research methods.

The LSU School of Leadership & Human Resource Development (SLHRD) offers programs dedicated to producing world-class practitioners, leaders, and instructors in human resource and leadership development. The BS, MS, PhD, and certificate programs are designed to develop the leadership, planning, analytical, problem solving, and change management capabilities that today's globalized organizations need to be successful.
