Tyreonia Jones receives 2015 LSU Foundation Staff Outstanding Service Award

Congratulations to Tyreonia Jones for receiving the 2015 Staff Outstanding Service Award from LSU Foundation. This award recognizes the superior work performance and outstanding contributions of full-time, non-academic staff employees of the LSU A&M campus and the LSU AgCenter.

Jones is the Administration Program Specialist within the College of Human Sciences & Education’s (CHSE) Office of Student Services (OSS).

“I cannot tell you how proud and delighted I am that Tyre has won this award. She is an incredibly hard worker who always wears a smile,” Dr. Jennifer Curry, CHSE Associate Dean, Programs & Services, said.  “Tyre has a heart of gold and an incredible work ethic. We work with some truly amazing people—and she is one of those!”

During her ten years of working here, Jones contributed greatly to the effectiveness of the college and it’s Office of Student Services by consistently looking for ways to improve efficiency in providing services to students as well as supporting other office staff. She completed extensive research to implement the utilization of an online appointment scheduling system for advising appointments, revolutionizing the office and benefitting students.

“Ms. Jones is consistently positive and provides a friendly and informative presence,” Lisa Newman, CHSE Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management, said. “She is always a strong support for us. She helps to keep us grounded and is supportive in all that we do. She is an asset to our office and college with her ability to put people at ease and skillfully assist the many individuals who present themselves at our reception desk.”

“Ms. Jones is always willing to go above and beyond in her duties,” Newman continued. “She is a giving woman who consistently puts others before herself in an effort to provide the most productive and efficient work environment and to support the education and graduation of CHSE students.”

Jones plans, oversees, and performs a wide variety of administrative and support activities for OSS and for the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management. Because her position encompasses responsibilities related to multiple offices, responsibilities are diverse and complex. It demands a high degree of independence and initiative, as well as attention to detail and confidentiality.

She will be honored on December 7, 2015 in the Lod Cook Alumni Center.

Tyre, you are well deserving of the 2015 LSU Foundation Staff Outstanding Service Award.

Congratulations from the College of Human Sciences & Education!
