Marci MillerCHSE Ambassador Marci Miller

Marci is in CHSE’s School of Kinesiology with a concentration in Human Movement Science.

Q: Why did you choose the College of Human Sciences & Education?

A: I mainly chose CHSE because I ultimately want to give back to people. I knew that CHSE could offer lots of opportunities to help people, especially in my case with wanting to do physical therapy.

Q: What are you most looking forward to this semester?

A: I’m most excited for my anatomy class -- just to learn more about how complex our bodies are and how they work.

Q: What is your favorite aspect of the College of Human Sciences & Education?

A: I like how broad the school is. You can major in many different areas, and when you leave college, you can get a job in lots of different fields like a PE teacher, a physical therapist or a doctor.

Q: Why did you apply to be a CHSE Ambassador?

A: I just wanted to contribute something to the college in general. I wanted to be more involved in the college and get closer to the faculty, and I wanted to aid in recruitment because not many people know about CHSE. As an Ambassador, I can help steer potential students into the college.

Q: Do you have any specific goals as a CHSE Ambassador?

A: My main goal is to guide new students who are confused and help them find their way. I believe anyone can find a place within CHSE because of all the opportunities the college has to offer.

Q: What advice would you give to someone contemplating your major?

A: First, I would say get informed by talking to people or shadowing professionals. Learn as much as you can, and go out and give things a try. You may be surprised by what you find.

Q: What is something that surprised you about LSU or CHSE?

A: I didn’t expect the faculty to care as much as they do. They help guide you and make the school feel so much smaller. Being an ambassador opened my eyes to just how big the school actually is.

An interesting fact about me is that I went on a mission trip to Haiti my senior year of high school. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I absolutely loved it.

My dream job would be to use physical therapy for missionary work and help those in need.

My favorite LSU tradition is singing the alma mater at LSU football games.
