2020 Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs

The Baton Rouge Community Entrepreneurship and Adversity Initiative seeks to help members of the Baton Rouge community, particularly those facing economic or other hardships, in starting and growing a business. It is a joint effort of the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute and the City of Baton Rouge. The initiative has two key components: a six-week training program called the Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs and follow up consulting projects for local disadvantaged entrepreneurs.

Topics covered in the Bootcamp address all facets of a successful venture. They range from developing a viable business concept and how to understand target markets to design a profit model, setting up operations properly, marketing your venture, and understanding basic financial analysis. The underlying focus is how to think and act in entrepreneurial ways—including how to do more with less and grow a venture with minimal resources. The approach will be interactive, so entrepreneurs will be encouraged to bring your business ideas and challenges into our discussions. Numerous resources, models, and helpful materials will be shared.

The Bootcamp occurs six consecutive Saturday mornings in the spring. It is intense, hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of launching and growing a successful venture. The Bootcamp is taught by LSU’s top faculty, subject matter experts, and successful entrepreneurs.

The price of the Bootcamp is $300, with full scholarships available to cover most of the cost for those who are economically disadvantaged.

The interest in the Bootcamp for 2020 has been overwhelming and has reached the registration capacity. Registration is now closed; however, if you are interested in the 2021 Bootcamp, your information will still be accepted. See below.
