MS Analytics
The Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) at LSU is an exciting degree offered by the
Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship & Information Systems (SDEIS). It is designed
to prepare students to use data-driven methods to contribute to organizational effectiveness
and guide decisions.
The STEM-designated program curriculum emphasizes the use of business analytics, business intelligence, and information technology to solve problems, reduce costs, increase revenues, streamline processes, and improve decision-making. Students learn specialized skills and knowledge drawn from the fields of computer science, statistics, operations research, and quality management to achieve results through a mixture of classroom instruction, hands-on exercises, and team-based projects.
The Master of Science in Analytics is available in three formats:
- On-campus formats
- Full-time
- Online format

Duration
- Full-Time: three semesters, beginning each year in the summer and ending in the spring.
Tuition
Estimated Cost for the Full-Time Program:
- $17,000 for Louisiana residents
- $38,300 for non-residents

Prerequisites
There are no official prerequisites required to apply. However, previous coursework including mathematics, statistics, engineering, science, computer programming, business, and economics is necessary to be successful. The program is suitable for recent graduates and experienced professionals. Many applicants have completed prior graduate coursework, including MS, MBA and PhD degrees.

Application Deadlines
Applications are reviewed in the fall and spring for the class beginning in June. Students may apply online through the LSU Graduate School website September through March preceding the start date of the program. However, we recommend applying as soon as possible since we review and admit students on a rolling basis until the class is full. Applications can be submitted prior to submitting supporting documents, such as transcripts and test scores.
International Applicants
