Outreach Initiatives

Bridge to Success

The Bridge to Success program is one of the college’s premier diversity initiatives. This program is geared toward minority freshmen and sophomores who desire admittance to the E. J. Ourso College.

Through a series of learning skills workshops, social activities, and peer-mentorship, students will become academically ready to apply to the E. J. Ourso College.

Diplomats for Diversity

Diplomats for Diversity is a student organization established to assist Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with the recruitment and retention of minority undergraduate students.

Diplomats work with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion director to develop and implement programs that support and create community among minority business and pre-business students. Additionally, they attend recruiting events on and off campus.

​The most recent objective of the diplomats has been to increase undergraduate participation in case competitions. Diplomats have competed in the National Diversity Case Competition annually since 2016, and placed third overall in 2016 and 2017, runner-up in preliminary round in 2019, and second overall in 2020. The premier event brings together top-level and diverse talent in undergraduate education from across the nation, where nearly 170 business students from 42 teams compete.

Diverse Mentor Graduate Program

In addition to the Bridge to Success program and the Diplomats for Diversity, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team facilitates the Diverse Graduate Mentor Program for masters, joint JD/masters, and PhD students.

Mentoring involves professional development seminars, learning skills workshops, internship information sessions, and conference scholarships, among other events and programs.
