LSU’s Flores MBA Program Introduces Innovative Executive MBA Flex Format
June 15, 2020
BATON ROUGE - The LSU Flores MBA Program is introducing the Executive MBA Flex format in January 2021 that will merge its previously offered professional and executive part-time tracks. This format is geared toward working professionals with at least three years of post-graduate work experience. The curriculum will consist of a combination of on-campus residencies one weekend a month, one global immersion experience, and customizable, interactive core classes administered asynchronously through LSU Online.
In the past, online and campus-based classes were two distinct ways to learn, but now, many top business schools are transitioning their part-time MBA programs to hybrid MBA formats. This change allows part-time MBA programs to blend both digital and on campus study, giving students a mixture of both learning environments.
“We’re very excited about this new format in the Flores MBA Program. With the Executive MBA Flex format, students will get the convenience of online classes and a professional network in our campus-based experiences. They will also engage in experiential learning opportunities—the idea of learning by doing—and travel the world to work on global projects. By offering students customized curriculum options, including specializations, the Executive MBA Flex track is an attractive choice for part-time students looking to advance their careers,” commented LSU Flores MBA Director Dana Hart.
Every January, this new Flores Executive MBA Flex format will provide students with a combination of required core classes (15 hours) and customizable core classes (nine hours). The 36-hour, 20-month curriculum will leverage the Flores MBA Program’s online track to administer a program that includes academic, experiential, leadership, and career development components. Once students complete their required and custom core classes, they can choose to take elective classes online to earn a specialization in either analytics, emerging technology, or healthcare management/policy. GMAT and GRE waivers are available to those students who meet or exceed the minimum admission requirements.
