BATON ROUGE - The LSU Professional Sales Institute held its fifth annual Internal Sales Competition and Career Fair Thursday, February 6, 2020. The annual LSU Sales Team Internal Sales Competition & Sales Career Fair offers sales team students the opportunity to compete against other team members for scholarship awards, and the invitation to represent LSU in upcoming national-level competitions against the best collegiate sales talent from other schools. Students had 20 minutes to compete in business-to-business sales scenarios, while representatives from our PSI Corporate Partners judged the contest in real time via closed-circuit TV. Four winners were selected and received scholarships through the Jack W. Salisbury Scholarship Award.

The winners of the 2020 LSU Sales Team Internal Competition are:

First Place - Taylor Benoit, Belle Chase, La.
Second Place - Avery Fortenberry, New Orleans, La.
Third Place - Bao Le, Wallis, Texas
Fourth Place- Carly Vicknair, Baton Rouge, La

Benoit and Fortenberry will be representing LSU in the National Collegiate Sales Competition next month.

“I’m incredibly honored to be a part of a great team,” said Benoit. “They were a huge part of my success in this competition. I’m thankful that all of my hard work and training paid off and I’m excited to represent LSU in the National Collegiate Sales Competition next month.”

“Serving as the director of the LSU Professional Sales Institute, and coach of the LSU Sales Team, allows me the privilege to work with some of the brightest, highly intelligent, and hardest working college students in the country,’ said Greg Accardo. “Our students here at LSU continue to perform at the highest levels against their counterparts for other universities and they continue to impress me with their work ethic. Our 2020 champion, Taylor Benoit, began her practice journey for this event in November of last year. Taylor worked consistently to improve her performance and never missed and scheduled practice session. She truly deserves this award and I look forward to her competing next month in the National Collegiate Sales Competition.”

The Professional Sales Institute would like to recognize our corporate partners for their participation in the event and their continued generosity: BXS Insurance, United Rentals, CMA Technology Solutions, Gartner, Cliff Ourso - State Farm and Paycom.

A special thanks also goes out to Jack Salisbury who is responsible for the Jack W. Salisbury Scholarship Awards given to the top four students competing in the competition.
