BATON ROUGE - Master of Analytics student Lauren Agrigento of Chicago, IL has been named a 2019 SAS® Global Forum Student Ambassador by the SAS Institute, an American multinational developer of analytics software based in Cary, North Carolina. She is the third LSU student to be named a SAS® Global Forum Student Ambassador since 2013.

The SAS Institute develops and markets a suite of analytics software (also called SAS), which helps access, manage, analyze and report on data to aid in decision-making. The company is the world's largest privately held software business and its software is used by most of the Fortune 500.

The SAS® Global Forum Student Ambassador program is a competitive program designed to recognize students using SAS software to benefit their respective fields of study. Agrigento has been recognized for several scholarly works and presentations and will present again at the Dallas SAS® Global Forum in April 2019.

Agrigento credits the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) program for her success. “Joining the MSA program was easily the best choice that I have made thus far in my career,” she said. “Professors such as Dr. Joni Shreve and Dr. Jim Van Scotter have gone out of their way to create an environment of research, learning and growth that has propelled me to receive this award and others.”

“Lauren Agrigento has been a standout in our analytics program, providing analytical insights to many organizations with which we have worked,” said Professor Joni Shreve, director of graduate studies for the MSA program. “She is recognized for her hard work among her peers here and on the professional stage and I have no doubt she will continue to shine as she joins the SAS Institute this May.”
