BATON ROUGE - Trey Dunbar, MD, 2007 graduate of the Flores MBA Program, has been named president of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health, Louisiana’s largest provider of pediatric services.

Dr. Dunbar's responsibility will be to build an iconic care system for children across Louisiana and the surrounding region, according to an OLOL announcement. His duties will include overseeing the strategic and operational leadership of the children’s hospital and the regional strategy for Children’s Health across the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS).

“I am excited by what the future holds for children’s health across our region as we build Louisiana’s children’s hospital and strengthen the statewide network of pediatric care,” said Dr. Dunbar. “I am humbled to accept this position and look forward to working with the Sisters and their incredible team to make Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health the preferred destination for exceptional pediatric care.”

A 1994 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dr. Dunbar is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics, and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in 1997 and completed his neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in 2000. In 2007, Dr. Dunbar graduated from the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business with his Master of Business Administration.

“I was fortunate to be a part of the professional MBA program,” said Dr. Dunbar. “The structure of the program allowed me to continue to practice medicine while learning new skills that were not taught in medical school. I found great value in the opportunity to collaborate and learn alongside industry experts from a variety of nonmedical fields. My PMBA experience gave me a solid foundation and opened doors to career paths that I would not have even considered possible after completing my medical training.”

"We are fortunate to have a talented and diverse group of students in our Professional MBA format each year," says Dana Hart, director of the Flores MBA Program. "The evening class structure is an attractive option for working professionals who want to further their education and advance or switch careers. Our PMBA alumni continue to do amazing things and represent the LSU Flores MBA Program through the prominent positions they have and the opportunities they pursue in the Baton Rouge community."
