BATON ROUGE - The Center for Energy Studies has awarded scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year to four students majoring in energy-related fields, including one student in the E. J. Ourso College of Business.

The LMOGA/Brooksher Scholarship was awarded to Shelby Wainwright. Wainwright is a sophomore majoring in finance from Hammond, La.

"I am so excited to receive this award,” said Wainwright. “The scholarship will allow me to have so many opportunities this semester."

Named for the late Robert R. Brooksher, Jr., an executive vice president of Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association and founding member of the LSU Center for Energy Studies’ Advisory Council, the scholarship supports the educational goals of LSU students interested in energy-related fields, with an emphasis on energy policy related to the oil and gas industry. The annual scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,000.
