LSU Flores MBA Program Offers One-Year MBA to Undergraduate Business Majors

February 12, 2019

BATON ROUGE - The LSU Flores MBA Program has launched a one-year MBA track that’s geared toward students who hold an undergraduate business degree from an accredited institution. Beginning in June, this new one-year MBA format will allow students to complete the MBA degree in just 11 months.

With a strong emergence of specialized one-year graduate programs, LSU Flores MBA Program Director Dana Hart sees this one-year MBA track as a great opportunity to grow the Flores MBA Program.

“We’re very excited about this new format in the Flores MBA Program. With a flexible and streamlined core curriculum, undergraduate business majors can fast-track their MBA experience and accelerate their career trajectory in just one year. Although one-year MBA students forgo a summer internship experience, they still gain broad-based business fundamentals, enhance their professional development, and pursue varied and interesting specialization opportunities through our elective curriculum,” commented Hart.

Since one-year MBA students already have a business degree, most of the core curriculum in this track is waived allowing courses to focus on students’ specific interests and career paths. The one-year MBA format is a 36-credit hour, cohort-based program that begins every June. Each semester has two, eight-week modules with up to three courses offered at a time. Students will also participate in a “pre-MBA” summer semester focusing on an MBA Foundations course, along with a course on professional development and communication.
