LSU Alumni to Receive Volunteer Activist Awards

BATON ROUGE – In recognition of their volunteer service, the Emerge Center has named LSU alumni Edmund Giering IV and Rolfe McCollister Jr. to its list of 2018 Baton Rouge Area Volunteer Activists.
Each year the Emerge Center honors activists for giving their time and talents to organizations across the community. Giering, McCollister and the other honorees will be recognized at a Nov.16 luncheon.
Giering is general counsel for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. He serves on boards of numerous organizations including the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, Research Park Corporation, YMCA of the Capital Area, Manship Theatre, University Laboratory School Foundation and Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital Family Advisory Council. Giering’s three LSU degrees include an MBA from the Flores MBA Program.
McCollister is the founder and CEO of Louisiana Business Inc., which publishes the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, 225 magazine, Louisiana NEXT, and many other specialty publications. McCollister was inducted into the E. J. Ourso College of Business Hall of Distinction in 2012. His extensive volunteer service includes a stint on the college’s Dean’s Advisory Council. McCollister holds a bachelor’s degree from LSU.
