The format is an 18-hole, four-person scramble. Prizes will be awarded for first place,
closest to the hole on three par-3s and more. Lunch and an awards ceremony will follow
the tournament at Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, 3838 Burbank Drive.
The event is more than just a golf tournament, however, said PSI Director Greg Accardo.
It’s also a valuable opportunity for students within the LSU Department of Marketing’s
professional sales concentration to gain real-world sales experience.
“Thanks to the PSI Golf Tournament, students engage in real-world sales before graduating,
and companies and students have the opportunity to network and discuss professional
sales careers,” Accardo said.
In the months leading up to the event, professional sales students are divided into
groups and tasked with selling tournament sponsorships — providing meaningful experience
and interactions with industry professionals. In addition, each four-person team in
the tournament is made up of three sponsors and one student.
