Lauren Agrigento, a senior economics major from Homewood, Ill., received a research
grant for her work to determine factors that could be used to predict a possible opiate
addiction. Her advisor is Joni Shreve, a senior instructor in the Stephenson Department
of Entrepreneurship and Information Systems.
Alyssa Hebert, a senior finance student from Madisonville, La., received a 2018 Discover
Scholar Award for her research “Volatility Strategies using Options.” Hebert is using
Bloomberg Professional to investigate the performance of four complex options strategies
during different volatility regimes. Hebert’s mentor is Kurtay Ogunc, instructor and
undergraduate advisor in the Department of Finance. Hebert and the other Discover
Scholar awardees were each given a $1,500 travel stipend and were honored at March
6 ceremony.
“We are pleased to see that our business students are not only participating in undergraduate
research but that they are recognized for the quality of their work,” said Richard
White Jr., dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business. “We are very proud of these
students and the faculty who are assisting with their efforts.”
