BATON ROUGE – LSU Discover has recognized two undergraduate students in the E. J. Ourso College of Business for their research.

Lauren Agrigento, a senior economics major from Homewood, Ill., received a research grant for her work to determine factors that could be used to predict a possible opiate addiction. Her advisor is Joni Shreve, a senior instructor in the Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship and Information Systems.
Alyssa Hebert, a senior finance student from Madisonville, La., received a 2018 Discover Scholar Award for her research “Volatility Strategies using Options.” Hebert is using Bloomberg Professional to investigate the performance of four complex options strategies during different volatility regimes. Hebert’s mentor is Kurtay Ogunc, instructor and undergraduate advisor in the Department of Finance. Hebert and the other Discover Scholar awardees were each given a $1,500 travel stipend and were honored at March 6 ceremony.
“We are pleased to see that our business students are not only participating in undergraduate research but that they are recognized for the quality of their work,” said Richard White Jr., dean of the E.
