June 28, 2018
BATON ROUGE – Thomas Greckhamer, a professor in the Rucks Department of Management in Louisiana
State University’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, was the keynote speaker at the
International QCA Summer Workshop 2018 held May 28-30 at the University of Wuppertal.
Jointly organized by the University of Wuppertal and ETH Zürich, the workshop offered
a platform for qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) researchers in political science,
sociology, management and economics to engage in a cross-disciplinary exchange.
Greckhamer’s presentation was titled “Bridging Disciplinary and Methodological Divisions with QCA.”
“Presenting this topic to an international and interdisciplinary group of scholars was very rewarding,” said Greckhamer. “I relished the opportunity to initiate a discussion on how to tackle methodological issues affecting various social science disciplines.”
The workshop brought together participants from 13 countries who are working to advance the methodology of QCA. The workshop was part of the COMPASSS QCA Expert Seminar Series.
Earlier this year, Greckhamer was invited to speak about QCA in Canada and Australia.
