Murphy to Head E. J. Ourso College of Business Development Efforts

BATON ROUGE – The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business welcomes Mike Murphy as its new senior director of development.
In his new role, Murphy will partner with the dean to manage the overall strategic vision of the E. J. Ourso College of Business, serve as the lead for the college’s development office, and maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects.
Murphy holds an undergraduate degree in international relations and a master’s in education and human development from George Washington University. He has more than 11 years of direct higher education advancement experience.
“Mike will be an asset to the college,” said E. J. Ourso College Dean Richard White Jr. “He comes to us with rich experience with principal and major gifts, institutional campaign planning, as well as reporting to and working alongside institutional leadership.”
Murphy most recently served as director of development for the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University. He has also served in frontline fundraising roles at St. Edward’s University and George Washington University.
